SnapTik Help Center Private TikTok Video
Private TikTok Video
Only what TikTok displays publicly can be retrieved. A private post is restricted by its creator, and that restriction is respected here, no setting bypasses it, deliberately.
What you can do
- Check the post in a logged-out tab, if TikTok hides it there, it is not public.
- For your own video, TikTok allows saving the original from your profile, or you can set it to public briefly and download it then.
- If a friend posted it, asking them for the file directly is the appropriate route.
- The moment a post becomes public, the normal download works immediately.
Why this happens
Privacy settings are an agreement between TikTok and its creators. A tool that circumvented them would be overriding a choice the creator explicitly made.
If you regularly share your own posts as files, leaving them public for a few minutes after publishing makes clean copies straightforward.
