Downloaded Video Has No Sound
A silent file is usually a playback setting in disguise. On iPhone in particular, the physical silent switch mutes video audio in many applications.
The solution
- Check the mute switch and the media volume, then play the file again.
- On iPhone, flip the side switch and raise the volume while the video is playing.
- Open the file once in another player such as VLC, if sound is present there, the file itself is fine.
- If the post was a photo slideshow, use the slideshow tool, it renders the images and music into a single MP4.
Why this happens
The audio track is saved exactly as the source provides it. The one genuine exception is a photo post, where the music is stored separately by design.
A quick test, play any other video in the same player first. If that one is also silent, the setting is on your device.
